"Fa Bene acts at the city markets, where organizes the collection of vendor's food remains and of citizens' food donations. The food is stored and, at the end of the market, it is transported to the associated Casa del Qaurtiere (Neighborhood Centre). Here it is weighted and delivered to the families that take part to the project. Every family get 2 packs per week and participate to the Neighborhood welfare with 20 hours of work every month. Social and economical impacts are many. The relationships that are activated make the square and the market a focal point for exchange, generosity, cooperation and reflection. It is estimated a reduction of the waste management and cleaning's costs of the market areas thanking to the fact that what is not sold is re-introduced in the cycle. Fa Bene points are active in 6 urban and 3 periurban markets; from 2018 other 5 periurban municipalities will be part of the project."
"Fa Bene is managed by the S-Nodi Committee in collaboration with the social cooperative Liberitutti. It was born in 2013 from the idea of PLUG: Creativity, a cultural association that acts as an ""incubator/accelerator"" of creativity in a participative way, paying attention to sustainability. Fa Bene is economically sustained by Compagnia di San Paolo and is institutionally supported by Città Metropolitana di Torino."
Being situated in the market places, FaBene has an elevated visibility and guarantees a great diffusion of its mission.
