The guide is an educative and sensitizing tool. First of all food waste is defined and its consequences over the environment are illustrated. The ecological footprint, the carbonic footprint the water footprint are analysed. Readers are shown how to interpret food labels and how to make choices that reduce waste by choosing the right packaging and preferring local and seasonal foods. Finally, we find many pieces of advice on food cooking, preservation and serving to reduce excesses and wastes.
