Did you know 44% of the bread produced in the UK is never consumed? Toast Ale is a craft beer company brewing with fresh surplus bread that would otherwise be wasted. The input sources are the surplus loaves from bakeries and the heel ends of loaves not used by sandwich makers when producing commercial sandwiches. Both established brewers and local bread at a community level are used for the brewing.
Toast Ale is a private initiative; the company asks support to other companies for the managing of services as Public Relationship, Design, Legal advice and Technology advice.
All profits go to the partner charity Feedback to support the fight against food waste. There’s a slice of surplus bread in every bottle and the ambition is to save more than 100 tonnes within 3 years.
